Terms of service · BRIDGE
The rules of the platform.
Last updated: 2026-05-03
1. Who we are
“BRIDGE” is a trading name and product of Arcane Automations Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. References to “BRIDGE”, “we”, “us”, and “our” in these Terms mean Arcane Automations Ltd operating the BRIDGE platform.
Contact: support@bridgewire.co.uk.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using BRIDGE you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookies Policy, and our Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
3. Eligibility
BRIDGE is for adults aged 18 or over participating in the UK gas trade — current or prospective learners, Gas Safe-registered mentors, and accredited training centres. By registering you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and lawfully yours to share.
4. The service
BRIDGE is a matching platform. We connect learners with mentors within a 60-mile radius based on geography, qualifications, and mentor capacity. We do not employ mentors or learners, do not deliver gas-trade training ourselves, and do not guarantee a match, a placement, an outcome, or any specific volume of work.
Training centres may use BRIDGE to delegate the matching of their learners to mentors on a per-job basis. Each match remains a working relationship between the learner and the mentor; BRIDGE is a platform intermediary only.
5. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. Notify us promptly at support@bridgewire.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access. Each account is for one legal entity or individual; sharing credentials is not permitted.
BRIDGE administrators may, from time to time, sign in as your account (“impersonation”) for the sole purpose of investigating support issues. Every impersonation event is recorded in our audit log. Administrator impersonation is restricted to verified @bridgewire.co.uk staff accounts.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform. You will not:
- commit fraud, harass other users, or impersonate any person;
- attempt to circumvent matching, pricing, payout, or payment controls;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract source code or non-public data;
- upload unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content, or content you do not have the right to share;
- transact business with another platform user off-platform in a way designed to avoid BRIDGE fees, payouts, or vetting controls;
- introduce malware, run automated abuse, or probe security;
- misrepresent qualifications, Gas Safe registration, accreditation, insurance cover, or business identity.
7. Vetting and approval
Mentors and training centres are subject to vetting before being activated. Vetting may include verification of Companies House records, Gas Safe registration, public liability insurance, accreditation evidence, and supporting documents you upload. Admission to the platform, ongoing eligibility, and the visibility of profiles or listings are at the reasonable discretion of BRIDGE administrators.
We may reject, pause, suspend, or remove an account where credentials cannot be verified, where evidence has expired, where conduct falls below the platform standard, or where required by law. Decisions are recorded with a reason and may be appealed by contacting support@bridgewire.co.uk.
8. Payments
Payments to BRIDGE are processed via Stripe (card and Stripe Customer Balance) or by bank transfer (BACS). Pricing is shown at the point of sale. Where you pay by BACS, the related order or job-payment will only complete once we have reconciled the bank transfer.
Training centres may purchase “jobs” on behalf of a named learner. Independent learners may purchase jobs directly. Each job is consumed when a mentor and learner jointly sign a job completion record on the platform.
Where applicable, VAT will be added at the prevailing UK rate. Receipts are issued by email and stored in your account.
9. Mentor payouts (Stripe Connect)
Mentors receive payment for completed jobs through Stripe Connect Express. To receive payouts, a mentor must complete Stripe’s onboarding (identity, address, date of birth, bank account, and ownership disclosures) and maintain a verified Stripe account in good standing. BRIDGE does not store mentor bank details directly — those are held by Stripe.
Payouts are accrued per completed and signed-off job at the published rate per job type and settled in batched Stripe Transfers. Bonus payments may be issued at BRIDGE’s discretion. Stripe’s own fees, payout schedule, and reserve rules apply and may delay an individual transfer.
10. Refunds, credit, and cashouts
Refunds for purchases are issued, by default, as a credit against your platform balance. Training-centre credit does not expire and may be applied to future orders or cashed out by request. Learner credit may carry an expiry as shown at the time of issue.
Cashout requests are processed by BACS following review by BRIDGE. We may decline a cashout where there are outstanding obligations, a fraud or chargeback investigation, or a regulatory hold. We do not refund to the original payment method except where required by law (for example, the consumer-rights cooling-off period for eligible distance contracts).
11. Job completions and signatures
A job is finalised when both the mentor and the learner sign the on-platform completion form. By signing you confirm that the job was performed substantially as described, you authorise BRIDGE to decrement the relevant job allocation, and you authorise the related payout to the mentor. Signatures are stored as part of the permanent audit record of the placement.
12. ACS practice
The ACS Practice add-on provides timed, simulated assessments to help learners prepare for real ACS gas-trade certification. ACS Practice is a study aid only. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or a substitute for any accredited ACS training or examination, and a passing score on ACS Practice does not confer any certification.
13. Intellectual property
The BRIDGE name, branding, software, designs, content, and databases are owned by Arcane Automations Ltd or its licensors. You retain ownership of content you upload (profile information, documents, signatures, messages) and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, transmit, and process that content for the purpose of operating the service, vetting, matching, and complying with our legal obligations.
14. Confidentiality
Profiles, match details, learner contact information, and training-centre commercial terms are confidential to the parties involved. You agree not to share another user’s personal data outside the platform except as required by law or as needed for the placement.
15. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting support@bridgewire.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms or the Code of Conduct have been breached, where vetting evidence cannot be maintained, where required by law, or where continued service is no longer commercially viable.
On termination: outstanding obligations (e.g. unpaid invoices, fees, BACS payments awaiting reconciliation, payouts in flight) survive; finalised job records, signatures, and financial logs are retained as set out in our Privacy Policy.
16. Liability
BRIDGE is a matching intermediary. We are not a party to the working relationship between mentor and learner, we do not supervise gas work, we do not certify competence, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, regulatory compliance, or outcome of any job carried out off-platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to BRIDGE in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100. We are not liable for indirect, special, or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of mentor opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss of data.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law (including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation).
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arcane Automations Ltd and its officers and contractors from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) misrepresentation of your qualifications, accreditation, or insurance status, or (c) gas work carried out by you or under your supervision.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify active users by email and by a banner in the dashboard. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
20. Tax and HMRC reporting (DAC7 / MRDP)
Mentors receive payments from BRIDGE as independent contractors, not employees of Arcane Automations Ltd. You are responsible for declaring and paying any income tax, National Insurance, VAT, Corporation Tax (limited-company mentors), or other taxes due on payments you receive via the platform. BRIDGE does not operate PAYE on mentor earnings and does not withhold tax at source.
BRIDGE is a UK digital reporting platform within the meaning of the Model Reporting Rules for Digital Platforms (commonly “DAC7”). Once per year, by 31 January, we must report to HM Revenue & Customs the total amount paid to each reportable mentor during the previous calendar year, the number of transactions, the platform fees we charged you, and your identity details (legal name, address, financial account identifier, and Tax Identification Number — your National Insurance number for sole traders, or your Companies House registration number for limited companies). You will receive a copy of the data we have submitted about you by 31 January each year.
To enable this reporting, you agree to:
- provide a valid National Insurance number(sole traders / partnerships) or Companies House registration number (limited companies) during onboarding;
- provide your UK VAT registration number if you are VAT-registered;
- keep your registered address, contact email, and bank details up to date;
- consent to BRIDGE submitting these details to HMRC under DAC7 / MRDP. Failure to provide accurate information may delay payouts or result in suspension under section 7.
BRIDGE pays its own Corporation Tax on platform-fee revenue and will register, declare, and pay UK VAT where its turnover requires registration. Nothing in this section constitutes tax advice; mentors should consult a UK accountant about their own filings.
