Code of conduct · BRIDGE

How we work, together.

Last updated: 2026-04-27

1. Purpose

This Code of Conduct exists to protect learners on placement, ensure quality training outcomes, and maintain the integrity of the BRIDGE platform. It applies to every mentor, training centre, and learner that uses BRIDGE.

2. Mentor obligations

Mentors that hire learners through BRIDGE must:

  • Provide lawful supervision by a Gas Safe-registered engineer at all times during placement.
  • Comply with the Gas Safe (Installation and Use) Regulations and equivalent.
  • Avoid exploitation of learners — fair hours, correct payment, and appropriate scope of work.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, with PPE and risk assessments in line with HSE expectations.

3. Training centre obligations

Accredited training centres using BRIDGE must:

  • Vet enrolled learners for identity, qualification readiness, and safeguarding before submission to the platform.
  • Maintain accurate enrolment records and update BRIDGE promptly when learner status changes.
  • Settle payments to BRIDGE and to placement mentors within the agreed terms.

4. Learner obligations

Learners placed via BRIDGE must:

  • Conduct themselves professionally on placement — punctuality, appropriate dress, respectful communication.
  • Represent qualifications, experience, and availability accurately in profiles and applications.
  • Follow lawful instructions from the supervising Gas Safe engineer and report any safety concerns immediately.

5. Reporting concerns

If you witness or experience behaviour that breaches this Code, report it via the in-platform reporting tool or the contact address on our website footer. Reports are reviewed by BRIDGE administrators in confidence.

6. Consequences for breach

Where a breach is identified, BRIDGE may apply one or more of the following measures, proportionate to the conduct:

  • Warning — formal notice with required corrective steps.
  • Suspension — temporary loss of access while we investigate.
  • Termination — permanent removal from the platform and notification of relevant regulators where appropriate.

7. Safeguarding minors

BRIDGE is designed for adult participants (18+). Where a training centre’s wider activity touches on minors, those activities fall outside the platform and must be operated in line with the Companies Act 2006, the Children Act, the Working Time Regulations, and any relevant safeguarding legislation. Training centres are responsible for ensuring no minor is enrolled or placed via BRIDGE.
