Delete your account

How to delete your BRIDGE account, and what happens to your data when you do.

Last updated: 2026-10-06

1. Delete from the app

If you can sign in, delete your account from the BRIDGE app. Section 3 lists what is deleted and section 4 what we keep.

  1. Open the BRIDGE app and sign in.
  2. Go to Account, then Delete account, and confirm.
  3. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on every device. On an older version of the app, this sends us a deletion request instead: we reply to confirm, then delete the account.

We can’t delete an account while money is still moving on it: a payment that is still clearing (bank transfers and Direct Debits can take up to 5 working days), an order or paid jobs not yet used, money we still owe you, credit or a cash-out not yet paid out, or a card payment under dispute. The app tells you what is holding it up. Nothing is deleted; try again once it has cleared, or contact Support to settle it.

On the website there is no delete button. Sign in, go to Support and raise a ticket asking us to delete your account.

2. Ask without the app

No app, or can’t sign in? Send us a deletion request below. Use the email address your BRIDGE account is registered with: we reply to that address to confirm the request is yours before we delete anything. We aim to respond within 30 days.

We'll only use your details to reply to this enquiry.

3. What we delete

  • Account and profile: your sign-in details, including any linked Google sign-in, and your mentor, training centre or learner profile are erased.
  • Messages: the text of every message you sent is wiped; the other person sees that a message was removed.
  • Profile photos and uploaded documents: deleted from our file storage when the account is deleted.
  • Password-reset and account-claim tokens: short-lived (a few hours for resets, up to 7 days for first-time claims) and pruned routinely.

4. What we keep, and for how long

Where you ask us to delete an account before these windows elapse, we will retain the minimum data required by law (typically the financial records) and erase the rest.

  • Financial records (orders, invoices, payments, BACS references, mentor payouts, cashouts): at least six years from the end of the relevant tax year, in line with HMRC rules; in practice retained for seven years.
  • Match records, job completions, signatures: retained for seven years after match closure to defend against placement-related disputes and to audit mentor payouts.
  • Audit logs: retained for seven years; bank details are intentionally excluded from audit logs.
  • Notifications sent to you: kept, like the other account records, for up to seven years after closure.
  • Gas Tight Revision attempts and answers: kept, but no longer tied to your name or email, because the learner profile they belonged to is deleted.

The full detail is in section 7 of our Privacy policy.
